چکیده
Background: Sowing time and variety-specific genetics influence the phenological development of lentil (Lens culinaris L.), affecting its heat solar energy utilization for attaining satisfactory yield. The present study was conducted to assess how different thermal indices behaved in explaining variation phenology yield components with corresponding effects on varieties grown under varying sowing dates. Methods: experiment comprised four dates main plots five sub-plots, laid out a split-plot design replicated thrice. phenology, were recorded. computed correlation regression analyses used their traits Result: after 7th November reduced by 13.6-22.5 kg ha-1 day-1 0.9-2.1% absolute relative basis, respectively. WBL 77 HUL 57 less sensitive temperature fluctuations resulting stable performance regimes. Despite significant traits, growing degree days explained 82.0-89.0%, while photothermal quotient (PTQ) 92.0-96.0% total PTQ emerged as reliable predicting index might be breeding climate-smart varieties.

Evaluation of the effect of spatial distribution of weeds on seed yield of lentil (Lens culinaris L.) in rainfed conditions
Weeds are one of the most important factors in reducing yield in legumes crops. Therefore, awareness of the interaction between weeds and crops as well as identification of their spatial variation pattern in the field is important. To investigate the the effect of weeds on seed yield of lentil, and also to study the spatial distribution pattern of weeds under rainfed conditions, a field experi...
متن کاملIndirect in vitro regeneration of lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.)
Establishment of an efficient and reproducible regeneration protocol is one of the basic prerequisites for genetic transformation of any crop plant. In vitro culture of lentil has proven to be difficult. In spite of a number of reports on the regeneration of this plant, very few satisfying and reproducible protocol has yet been reported. This study carried out for investigation of diff...

A field experiment was conducted at Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute, Gazipur during rabi (winter) season of 2008-09 to observe the efficacy of two herbicides on the yield of lentil (BARI masur-5). Paraxon, Whipsuper, Ronstar and Topstar were the herbicidal treatments applied after sowing of seeds and two leaf stage of weeds according to their mode of action. Dry weight of weed sample...
متن کاملWill selenium increase lentil (Lens culinaris Medik) yield and seed quality?
Lentil (Lens culinaris Medik), a nutritious traditional pulse crop, has been experiencing a declining area of production in South East Asia, due to lower yields, and marginal soils. The objective of this study was to determine whether selenium (Se) fertilization can increase lentil yield, productivity, and seed quality (both seed Se concentration and speciation). Selenium was provided to five l...
متن کاملEvaluation of genotype × environment interaction using WAASB and WAASBY indices in multi-environment yield trials of rainfed lentil (Lens culinaris L.) genotypes
Combinining features of the best linear unbiased predictions (BLUP) and additive main effects and multiplicative interaction (AMMI) through “Weighted average of absolutescores of best linear unbiased predictions” (WAASB) index in multi-environment experiments may lead to more percise evaluation of genotypes and assessment of genotype × environment interaction. In the present study, the seed yiel...
